Time To Shoot - Finally...

Monday, May 19, 2008

I finally arrived in Denver at 2 AM. I had the worst travel experience getting here. Started off in Atlanta where my flight was supposed to leave at 4 PM. That just didn't happen. We were delayed until almost 9:30 PM. No one seemed to know what was going on and why we were delayed. Finally we left and I was sound asleep on the plane. I felt the plane flying low after a while and then I heard the pilot announce, "Welcome to St. Louis!" I thought to myself for a moment...."I'm not supposed to be in St. Louis, I'm supposed to be in Denver." Now I was wondering how in the world I ended up on the wrong flight?? Turns out I was on the right flight, the crew just decided they needed a break and wanted to change crew after flying for so long. Without any notification, the pilot turned the plane north and there you have it...St. Louis.

Once the crew was changed, we were flying for an additional 2 hours to get to Denver. By the time we landed I knew half the people on the plane by first name. Total travel time for a 3.5 hour flight - 14 hrs. The experience did have a happy ending. I met a very nice young lady on the plane who asked me to shoot her wedding. In the middle of all the waiting we connected and I showed her my portfolio. She's in the U.S. Air Force and so is her fiancee.

You never know what a bad situation can turn into when you have patience. However, I will admit that I was at the end of my patience and getting ready to fall off of the edge and roll over on my back!!!

Well its time to shoot finally and to see this beautiful city...

Hello... My name is Peter from Philly... When you travel I am sure you carry on your equipment on the plane... If not how do you pack, hard case like a Pelican 1600 ?

Peter, I carry all of my sensitive equipment on the plane. I use a lower pro small suitcase fitted with compartments.

Is it weird that I find the camera very attractive while it's laying there on the bed... HAHA
