The Last Workshop of the Year by Ross Oscar Knight - Recap

Monday, October 25, 2010

October 15th and 16th I taught my final photography workshop of 2010. What a class!!! Everyone arrived earlier than I expected ready to learn and get out and shoot. The weather was gorgeous and for the first time ever we had a Canon vs. Nikon tug-o-war (shhh, it was staged). Two of my prior students (Eric C. 2008 and Eric P. 2010) came to help teach and one (Dennis 2008) returned to take the business class. I was totally impressed with everyone's ability to grasp concepts quickly and to ask all of the right questions. My father-in-law joined us for the class and also one of my brides from a January 2010 wedding in Central America attended. We photographed two "real" couples for our Building Community Through Photography initiative. Our lunch was catered by one of my Morehouse brother's - Black Tie Barbecue. My new studio manager Yvonne did a fantastic job coordinating both days and keeping me on track.

P.S. I know I am missing some transitions in the sentences above but I am typing and posting just as fast as I can to catch up!

Here are some of the images from the day.

Thank you for having me join you and help out with your (Canon vs Nikon) workshop. It was great meeting your new studio manager, Yvonne and Eric P of 2010 Workshop. I could see the excitement on everyones faces as they prepared to go out and shoot that afternoon, ready to go out and practice what they had learned all morning. Looking back, I could see how much I had learned from attending your class. I still utilize everything you had taught me in my style of photography, till this day. I'm glad I was able to come out and share that with the new members of the ROK family. May God continue to bless you according to His will, my friend.

What an honor it was to be a part of your workshop & have you share your photography insights and perspectives. I can already feel & see the growth in myself. Thank you! I'm so grateful to you & your staff for an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G experience. ROK is the real deal.
