Robert and Tia dropped by the studio today to get started on their album design with Yvonne as I prepared my equipment for the wedding this weekend. We got into a debate about frozen yogurt that somehow started another conversation about cupcakes. Before we knew it we were headed down the street to one of my new favorite bakeries, Apple Butter. Little did we know, there was only one cupcake left for the day so we split it four ways. Afterwards we worked the calories off with some extra curricular activities. Smile - its Friday!!

Stepping Into the Spring

I'm loving the warmer temperatures in Atlanta but I can do without the pollen count and the rain. I sneezed most of last week and then I had to reschedule an engagement shoot this past weekend due to intermittent showers. We have our second wedding of the season coming up next week!

I stumbled across this composition of shattered glass amidst a stagnant pool of water. It made me ponder the following:

We all go through some hurt or sense of grief in our life that adds to our perspective of the future. Perhaps a family tragedy, a lost job, a financial catastrophe or a broken relationship could be an example of what determines our own forecast. Failure can seem to weigh us down in the murkiness of sorrow even more than success lifts us up in the illumination of happiness. What we learn or don't learn from our journey of circumstances will determine...

When I am walking around with my camera, its funny the things I come across sometimes. I saw this sign and immediately had to stop. You'll notice that I am scratching the balding spot in the back of my head. I could say sooooo much more about this sign and business but instead I am going to enjoy the weather outside and get ready for 3 straight days of shooting this weekend in Atlanta!

My New Obsession - Frozen Yogurt

I've fallen in love with frozen yogurt and with a new shop opening every day in Atlanta, I'm on a personal mission to visit them all. These shots are from the Yogurt Tap in Downtown Decatur. The yogurt is a little soft (?) for my taste but I enjoy the unique selection of flavors (6) and toppings (very fresh might I add). My favorite is the original - not too tart. I can attest to the friendly atmosphere but if you are looking for somewhere quiet...this is not the place for you. There are lots of kids in the evenings until late night. At 39 cents per ounce, the Yogurt Tap is not the most inexpensive spot I've found but close to it (Planet Living 44 cents!!).

New York Street Musician - Inspiration

What I love to do most is photograph people doing what they love. Its just so natural and it reminds me of why I started my photography career in the first place. I tend to tote my camera or iPhone with me wherever I travel so I have thousands of images. This photo inspired me today. The musician performed without a care for who was around him. I watched for several minutes and he never opened his eyes. He was doing his own thing...differently. No approval needed. Love it! Do what you want to do. Life is not waiting for you to figure it out.
