Harvesting Tea (चाय) Leaves in the Vast Hill Plantations of the Southeast India Mountains

I felt compelled to stop only once when noticing the workers collecting leaves that would be processed to make tea. Instead of plucking the leaves by hand this worker used a device to increase her productivity. In a future post I will describe the tea making process from beginning to end.

I've been shooting in North and South India for nearly a month and I can't begin to describe the incredible experience. I was blessed to shoot a 3-day wedding in Vadodara, Gujurat India. Right now I am trying to get back to a normal sleeping schedule. That's why I'm blogging at 3:30 AM! During week two of the trip I traveled to Jaipur in Rajasthan and rode a camel for the first time in my life. After watching the sun set I slept outside my tent in the open under the stars. For once I kept a written journal so hopefully you will enjoy the tidbits that I share with you about my journey over the next few months. Feel free to post any questions via my blog or facebook.
