Stylish Wedding at W Hotel Ft. Lauderdale by Ross Oscar Knight | Sean + Brook - Part I

Friday, April 30, 2010

When Brook and I planned her Engagement Session in Atlanta last Summer I knew that I was working with a professional designer. I received a document from her in my inbox that had a storyboard complete with outfits and samples. Wow!! I expected nothing short of perfection for this wedding.

Sean and Brook had a super stylish wedding at the swanky W Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale. I fell in love with the decor of the place as soon as I walked into the lobby and saw people swimming above me through the transparent ceiling. I could shoot there for days. Equally as impressive were the details that the couple incorporated to make the day their own. Just to list a few:

1. Matching Bride and Groom embroidered Chuck Taylors
2. My Jones Cream Soda (custom label w/ pic from Engagement Session)
3. Wedding Dress by Pricilla of Boston (love the pockets Brook!)
4. Men's Custom Suits by Le Tux (shout out to Rik and his team)

I could go on and on...

Here's Part I highlights from the wedding!

Trunk Bay St. John USVI Engagement Session by Ross Oscar Knight | James + Aisha

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

I was down in St. John this month to shoot James and Aisha's fusion (Pakistani/Puerto Rican/Scottish) wedding. I love fusion weddings! I worked with the always fabulous Mary Bartolucci of Island Style Weddings. We last teamed up for Mitch and Keesha' s nuptials in 2008 just after I got married myself.

Since the wedding was on Sunday at Caneel, I flew down 2 days early to scout the beaches and to shoot the couple's engagement session. Aisha and I have a special relationship as we pondered outfit selections together for a few weeks. Its not always a bad idea to run your color choice and style by your photographer. I'll have to say myself that the colors in the photos really pop! I hope you will enjoy the little video I put together as this is the second that I have produced. We started the session with a fashion/commercial edge and then switched to candids in the water and at the Sugar Mill ruins. There are no words but you will get a sense of the lighting and mood during the shoot. The water was that beautiful and the weather was perfect - hence the song. At the end of the video I was caught off guard as the couple ran away from me and I had to catch up. I almost ran them over looking back at Cliff!

I'll have the wedding post up soon.

Delightful Buckhead Atlanta Engagement Session by Ross Oscar Knight | Kevin + Chynna

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

Shooting this engagement session for Kevin and Chynna was a real treat...at least for their Boxer. I was making barking noises half the time and whimpering like a pup to keep his attention. What can I say - duty calls sometimes. We started the shoot at the top of their condo building and then transitioned outdoors to get some candids of the trio hanging out enjoying the fresh air. The wedding is coming up this August and I am already anticipating more laughter and love!
