Joe and Tara @ Decatur Square
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrongs. Love does not delight in eveil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
I'm beginning to believe that I have some sort of mojo or something. If you come to work for me, within a year you'll either be engaged or well on your
way to a serious relationship. That's whats happened to my last 3 studio
managers and 2 photographers. I can't make any
promises to anyone, I'm just stating the facts. Maybe its because
they are around wedding images all day long and then catch the bug?
Just
over a year ago, Tara took a leap of faith and traveled from Brooklyn
to Atlanta to come and work with me. She has whipped the studio into
shape and photographed clients with me from here to Africa. We've talked
about and shared our dreams both business and personal. One day Tara came to
the studio and there was a noticeable difference in her demeanor. She
was glowing like a light! It didn't take long for her to spill the beans
about meeting Joe.
The first time I met Joe I was a
little skeptical. He was quiet and I felt protective of the woman that I
view as a little sister. Who is this guy and what type of sweet talking
is he doing to make this girl blush at the mention of his name? I
learned more about his background and then I realized the common
denominator he had with Tara. Their love of God. Its quite obvious when
they are together the spiritual connection they share. They serve as youth leaders at their church! One of the sweetest things I witnessed from the two of them was one day after work. Joe came to pick up Tara who knew that my father had just had a stroke. They asked to pray for my family and we made a circle in the middle of the studio to touch and agree. That's love.
For my last few workshops I've used "real" couples to demonstrate to the
class how to engage people and shoot at the same time. Joe and Tara
agreed to be our muses so I did an engagement session for them. Taking the photos was effortless. From the first exposure, I could feel their spirit. A spirit of love, a spirit of joy, a spirit of unity, a spirit of peace. Lucky for me...I get to document their wedding very soon and its going to be a blast! Please join me in congratulating the couple and praying blessings over their union.
