KNIGHT + Mrs. KNIGHT | Atlanta, GA - The Making of the KNIGHT Booth

Thursday, February 26, 2009

On Sunday we displayed our work at the International Bridal Affair. The brides we met throughout the day were totally excited and we were able to give them information on planning their weddings and our photography services. We wanted to make our booth very inviting and personal for all of the guest. I had an idea to photojournal the construction of our space from bare walls to final touches. I put together the slide show below for you to check out. Let us know what you think of the final result!

A special thanks goes out to Nadira and Vanita (Envi Event Planning) for inviting us and organizing a great show. Also, I want to thank Michelle (Lemiga Events) for going shopping with me and arriving early with flowers to complete the look! Last but not least I have to thank my wife for staying up with me until 2 AM the night before the show while I pondered what I was missing (I had forgotten to pick up the cupcakes with my logo...hmmm).

To conclude the event, the ladies of Envi Event Planning surprised everyone with a belly dancer that rocked the afternoon. She was hottt and actually matched the colors of my booth!!

Will + Griselda | Love At Last - Braselton, GA

On Valentine's Day I documented the proposal of Will and the lovely Griselda at the Chateau Elan Winery in Braselton, GA. I remember the first time speaking to Will one late January afternoon and the anxiousness in his voice. I asked him was the ring burning a hole in his pocket yet and he said, "Yes!" I thought back to my own engagement and how excited I was just weeks before the big day. Will arranged a limo to pick up he and his main squeeze from home and drive them an hour up to the north Georgia Winery. Once arriving at the destination, Griselda emerged from the limo totally stunned at the location and Will's secret planning process. After bypassing the check-in they took a tour of the Winery. I kept a safe distance for a while and then text Will that it was time for the big moment since the sun had finally decided to illuminate the sky after a morning of light rain. I handed the ring box to Will that I had privately snuck off to shoot in one of the vacant tour viewing rooms. Griselda's face was priceless as Will knelt to profess his love and ask for her hand in marriage. She said "Yes!" with no apprehension and admired her ring for some time - much to Will's satisfaction. After the proposal Will surprised Griselda further with roses he had delivered to their suite along with white and dark chocolate covered strawberries. The two ended the unforgettable evening with a private dinner to reminisce about the day's events and to plan the rest of their lives together.

Congratulations Will and Griselda! I am continually honored by all of my clients/friends that allow me to document such intimate moments of their lives. I wish you nothing but the best in your future and I look forward to hearing about your wedding plans soon.

Jelani + Chonita | Anguilla

Thursday, February 19, 2009

Wow!!! I've been so busy (planning workshops and editing) lately that its actually been a challenge keeping up with posting. I have like 100 posts that I have typed waiting to be published.

This is the slide show from the wedding in Anguilla back in December. I really enjoyed working with this couple (original post) and watching the slide show made me think of how much I missed the island and all of the people I met at their wedding. I hope you enjoy!

Family Time With The KNIGHTs - A Quick Trip

Tuesday, February 10, 2009

As I grow older I realize more and more how important my family is to me. When I left for college I was really trying to get away from everyone and everything that reminded me of my youth. Church 3 - 4 nights a week, the beach (can you believe that one), small towns, bunk beds and even Krispy Kreme doughnuts...

Traveling to Florida twice this first quarter made me think about how comforting it is just to be around family. My dad had an operation on last Friday so all of the Atlanta siblings hit the road to go support our hero.

After having an enjoyable breakfast alone with my mom I suggested that the family head to the docks on Pensacola Beach.

We picked up my nephew along the way to take him with us. Of course I took the opportunity to snap some shots of he and my younger brother.

Proud grandparents marvel at the growth of this young man...

Here's the family anxiously awaiting seafood from Peg Legs. This is also just before I spilled my drink on my sister!

Now you can see where I got my dimples from - my mom sure is a beautiful woman! My hands and nose are compliments of my dad.

Not to be outdone we stopped in Montgomery to see my other nephew. This kid is remarkable. Look at him trow this ball like a pro!

Lucky for me I have a March engagement session and a May wedding both in Florida. I get to do this all over again!

Why Did I Get Married???

Wednesday, February 4, 2009

Maybe this should be titled - "Why do I love my wife?"

Because my wife can find my car keys no matter where I seem to hide them from myself!

Because she makes me parmesan chicken once a month! Tacos too!

Because she keeps kleenex boxes around the house even though I think I don't need them! Even in my car!

Because she seems to be able to answer any medical question I can imagine!

Because she gets up at 6 AM to go to work while I am still editing pictures!

Trust me, I am not this materialistic. To see the real reason you will have to travel back in time to read my post titled: Your Support System

Moving on though...

Yesterday I received a wonderful gift from my wife. The new FRAY album! I've listened to the first FRAY album on every plane ride for the last 2 years. God help the people sitting next to me. I know every word by heart so I can tell how long the plane has been in the air when the cd ends.

Brandi gave me the deluxe album version as an early Valentine's Day gift. That's really interesting because we decided a long time ago not to really celebrate Valentine's Day. Instead, we express our love randomly throughout the year whenever we feel like it. That being said, I was actually on the FRAY website and then browsing through iTunes when I got this unexpected email below:

Love you babe!!

Hans + Jamie | Hochston, GA - The Most Energetic Wedding Party Ever

Tuesday, February 3, 2009

And the award for most energetic wedding party ever goes to...

I couldn't get enough of shooting these people because they were so much fun to work with. The guys had me laughing from the moment I walked through the door and the ladies were just as hilarious. Seems as if the entire crew was up for acrobatic moves and you know I was down for that. My first big workout back in the States this year. It was certainly cold outside but the chuckling kept us all warm inside!

Enjoy the pics and the slide show will be up soon enough.
