Demetrius + Melissa | Tyrone, GA - Tender Moments

Saturday, May 30, 2009

This month Brandi and I photographed the wedding of Melissa and Demetrius in Tyrone, GA at Glendalough Manor. We attended Morehouse and Spelman College with the couple so it was a special honor to winess this much anticipated union.

The day began with me shooting downtown with the guys at the Westin while Brandi hung out with the ladies at Glendalough. By the time I reached the venue for the ceremony, the lighting outside was perfect. We took our places and did what we do best...document Love.

I posted a few of the "Tender Moments" below.

KNIGHT + The Buckhead Photography Project

Wednesday, May 27, 2009

Come see me this Sunday at the Buckhead Church in Atlanta!

The Buckhead Church has a foyer that had bare walls. In February, leaders at the church came up with a concept to support the arts by displaying photographers photos to enhance a particular sermon series. Now the blank walls have been transformed into a photo gallery to make the lobby more visually aesthetic.

Come out and see/support me at the Buckhead Church (3336 Peachtree Road) this Sunday (May 31st) at 7 PM. One of my framed photos will be on display as I explain why I chose to use this image for the relationship series.

The original post for the photo taken at StoryCorps in New York is here.

T minus 2 Hours - Time to Shoot in Destin, FL

Saturday, May 23, 2009

This weekend I am shooting a one of a kind wedding near the Santarosa Sound. I drove past my middle school and high school in Pensacola yesterday on the way to Destin, FL. Memories, memories, memories! The rain has subsided for now and we are all charged up and ready to go after having brunch at one of my favorite restaurants - The Doughnut Hole.

I know the last two weeks have been one image posts and I will have more up soon. Here is a shot that I love from the Naples wedding just last weekend!

Gotta go, we have two hours until the wedding. Next week I'm off to Chicago...

Coming Soon - Jordan + Ritu | Naples, FL - The Sangeet Celebration

Lastnight I shot Jordan and Ritu's Sangeet Ceremony and we had a blast. The location was at a beach house in Naples and it looked so cool from the outside as the sun went down.

I will photograph the fusion Indian/American wedding this Saturday near the beach. Stay tuned for pics from all of the events!

Coming Soon - Demetrius + Melissa | Tyrone, GA

No shoe, ring, or flower preview this time. Its the kids that caught my eye.

I'm still editing this wedding but I wanted to post an image that really stood out to me. Before the ceremony the flower girls were a total trip. They were running all over the place. For just a few moments I caught the two exploring the blinds of a window and looking out towards the garden as guests began to arrive. I think this picture is so innocent and it definitely reminds me of how we (adults) all used to marvel at the simplest things in life. I still do.

More pics to come soon from this Morehouse/Spelman College connection...

KNIGHT + Community + Impact Church + Blood:Water Mission (Thirst Relief)

KNIGHT Purpose

"Build Community Through Photography"

- rok 2007

My Church, Impact, has partnered with the Blood:Water Mission, a 501(c)3, to join the fight to bring water to the continent of Africa. Today millions of people are dying because they don't have access to something that we in America take for granted: WATER. The cost of one well that can provide water for a village of 1000 people is approximately $4500.

Keven Williams of KRJ Productions produced a video (below) of Impact's worship team singing, "Thirst No More." The song features Isaac Carree of Men Of Standard and can be downloaded for 99cents. 100% of the proceeds from the sell of the song will benefit Blood:Water Mission.

Ross Oscar Knight Photography is proud to announce that we are part of the Blood:Water Mission Project. We made the decision to lend video footage from our trip to Africa in December 2008 and January 2009 to help with the "Thirst No More" video production.

Check out the video below and if you want to donate or download the song you can find more info here.

Jaymin + Tiffany | Roswell, GA

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

You've been patient and I finally have more images edited.

I photographed the wedding of Jaymin and Tiffany last weekend at the Country Club of Roswell. Can you believe I was nervous? And it wasn't because of the rain.

I always find it an extra privilege to shoot any event for a friend. Since Jaymin and I went to college together and we are frat brothers I knew that the guest list would be full of people I hadn't seen since my early 20s. The engineering days...and the wild days. I closed my eyes to pray and then let my lens do all the talking for me. Brandi, Cliff, and I had a blast capturing every emotion including the "First Glance" between the bride and the groom.

For those of you not familiar with the "First Glance" I'll explain. For some of my non-traditional brides and grooms I offer a short session before the wedding to get their formals out of the way. This allows for us to forgo doing images after the ceremony and move quickly onto the reception. Also, both the bride and groom are looking their best since they have just finished dressing. After I arrange a meeting place for the couple, I leave my second photographer with the bride and then I take my time going to get the groom. The anticipation builds for both of them. Once together, the photos are amazing! Its like our own little secret as we usually do not tell anyone else from the wedding what we're up to!

Check out the pics below...

I really loved this bouquet. The colors were just right.

Here's the groom checking to see if the rings would fit.

The bride before the "First Look."

The groom waitng for his groomsmen to finish preparing for formals. He was quite debonair.

The bride had a special moment to honor the memory of her late father. This was a coin of his that was made into a necklace.

I captured this image of Tiffany on her way to meet Jaymin.

The flower girl was so cute!

Tiffany surprised Jaymin before the wedding with a watch that he has wanted since Christmas.

The "First Glance." Her dress was beautiful!

Jaymin helped Tiffany to relieve stress with a massage before walking down the aisle.

Jaymin's grandparents decided to show the couple how to really dance!

Jaymin sang the Kappa sweetheart song with all of our frat brothers surrounding he and Tiffany. I couldn't help but sing along myself.

The party started after the cake cutting and the guests really danced into the night.

At the end of the night I took one last photo before taking my equipment to the car.
