Taking Time Off

Saturday, December 29, 2007

Taking some time off for the holidays has given me some much needed rest, time to spend with family, and time to browse the internet for interesting reads.

I was checking out Matt's website and found this wild clip.

House I Shot for PARADE Magazine Featured on HGTV!

Thursday, December 27, 2007

A house that I shot this past summer for PARADE magazine was featured on HGTV last night! I still think the house is one of the coolest in Atlanta and an ideal location to shoot.

The show was titled "What's With That House?" Click here to read the story.

Happy Holidays from the KNIGHTs!

Can you believe I just saw my nephew for Thanksgiving and now he is walking?? Crazy I tell ya! Well spending time with the family has been so much fun. We had a Taboo Game showdown that resulted in a questionable tie breaker! I snapped a few shots of us around the house. Notice the random radio remote trigger I used in my hand to shoot my camera wirelessly. I kinda forgot to put my hand down in the first shot!

Wishing you the best during this holiday season!!!

Candid shot of KNIGHT

It's not too often that people actually capture images of me and send me copies. I was totally impressed when I received this shot from J.J. McQueen - an awesome videographer I shot with while I was in Baltimore this year. Check it out!

Perks of the Job - How Sweet It Is! A Shoot for the Hungry Peach.

Tuesday, December 18, 2007

Last week I did a photo shoot for The Hungry Peach.

Let's start with the menu:

- Stacked Cobb Salad
- Filet of Beef on a Bed of Asparagus Drizzled in Crab Buerre Blanc
- Oven Braised Salmon in a Lemon Tarragon Creme Fraiche
- Chocolate Mouse Cake in a Creme Anglaise Spider Web

Now with that type of menu, who would turn down this shoot. Certainly not I.

Personal Chef Suzanne Vizethann prepared all of the food and watched me closely as my mouth watered while I arranged my lights. You may remember Chef Suzanne because she also prepared the food for my proposal dinner. Her services are great for private parties and daily meals. She'll come right to your home with food for the week!

After the photo shoot I had the privilege of eating all of the food!!! Just check out the look on my face on the last picture.

The Future Mrs. KNIGHT Walks 60 Miles For the Cure

I was really proud to photograph my fiancée as she participated in the Atlanta 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk. She powered her way through 60 miles in the heat and her team raised just over $17,000 for research. You can read more about her research by clicking here. It was amazing to see so many woman both survivors and supporters come together for this event. Check out the pictures below! If you want to participate in a walk in your city click here.

30 Years and Still Going Strong

Thursday, December 6, 2007

James and Loretta can be a testament to us all. After 30 years of marriage these two are still going strong and laugh enough to make you smile even in the worst situation. They decided to renew their vows this year in Woodbridge and have the wedding that they've always wanted. The site for the reception was the coolest - The Torpedo Factory in Alexandria. James has been known to win a few dance competitions around town but his daughter stole the night with an inspirational dance that would make anyone emotional. One time she jumped so high that I lost her with my camera. Luckily, my trusty assistant was on the job shooting from a higher position close to the stairwell.

Congratulations James and Loretta, you both really rock in my book!!!

If I (You) Had Just One More Day

I was watching the Oprah Show about what you would do if you had just one more day to spend with someone who is no longer here. Author, Mitch Albom's book, For One More Day, will be portrayed in a movie produced by Oprah Winfrey this Sunday 12/9/07 at 9 PM EST.

After watching the show, I thought a bit more about the subject. If I Had Just One More Day. This past week my company finished work on several memorial DVDs for clients. After viewing the finished products I was overwhelmed with feelings of joy and sorrow.

I am constantly reminded by the pictures displayed in my home of who I would want to spend one more day with. My great-grandfather. I did a post about him (click here) a few months ago. He was and still is a great source of my inspiration as a man, businessman, and leader. If I had one more day with him, I would ask him about his tenacity in business, his devotion to faith, his commitment to family, his ability to command respect, his service to the community, his wisdom in decision-making, his involvement in politics, his financial outlook, his fears and insecurities. I will never forget the sacrifices my family has made so that I can be where I am today.

This holiday season and always think about the individuals who are still here now that you can show love and appreciation to. Gifts are great but sometimes just giving someone 15 minutes of your time can be divine.
