Unlock The Gift

Sunday, June 8, 2008

If you have spent anytime reading my blog, you know there is one thing that I can talk about until I am blue in the face and pass out.

Its all about unlocking the gift inside of you.

What's holding you back? Many of us are holding on to excuses or allowing other people to define us and our dreams. These excuses are so old, you don't even need a key anymore to unlock your gift. You can simply break the lock off!

Sometimes the lock is already open and the door is just waiting for you to walk into your calling. If you wait, someone might just walk in before you or take the lock and actually close it. Then it will take even longer for you to discover your true gift.

Whatever your case, the time is now.

"Passion is innate and best revealed by unlocking one's true gift."

Thank you for this post. It came just in time. Reading your blog is a constant reminder to me to follow your dream, your passion. The only thing is, you left engineering behind to go for it...I'm too scared to do so, but I'm working on it.

Thank you for allowing God to use you.

It is nothing like stepping out on faith and trusting God...With God anything is possible. Thanks, for this post it is refreshing, it has confirmed for me that I am on the path God has set for me and all I need is a mustard seed of faith to walk through that already open door that is waiting for me to walk into my calling. Yes, I am so excited to get to the other side of the opened door to see what awaits me!

Have a blessed week!

Thanks for the post. I have been fighting spiritually to go back to school/change careers. Like my pastor said last week "stress makes you press to your dreams."

Thanks for being an open vessel.

Wow! The fact that you posted this today was God sent. I was contemplating just today on why I have not moved forward with my dreams. I am actively pursuing them , but not full time. I found your Blog through my husband who is also a Morehouse Man. Thanks and many Blessings.

This blog entry is exactly why I love your blog. Interspersed with remarkable photos are remarkable snippets of wisdom and reminders of what life is all about .... constantly focusing inward, fine tuning and refining ourselves. Thanks for the reminder.

I am a frequent visitor to your blog and you continue to inspire me everyday. Today's message is one that most of us know and is common knowledge but are just too afraid to break that lock or walk in through those open doors. Thank you for continually reminding us that it is ok to fight for our dreams. I also love the blue door and lock :)

You're so right, there is no better time than NOW for us to go after our dreams with reckless abandon; pursuing the desires, hopes, and prayers of our hearts, without fear. Sure, we may fall or fail on our first attempt, but a wise man once said: "There is no doubt in my mind that there are many ways to be a winner, but there is only one way to be a loser and that is to fail and not look beyond that failure..."

GREAT post...

Hey knight,

I often look to see what you are doing but never comment..

Inspirational words like this often remind us that our gifts and abilities have nothing do do with us...It's all Him moving through us. your gifts emerge following your passion and it is very easy to see. Just like your wife's gifts follow hers. Congratulations to the two of you in all that you to. May God continue to wrap his loving arms around you and protect you.

As my passion grows for photography so do the opportunities.. but I'm very clear... It is all because of Him..

as a Native Atlanta-n it is fun to see the great city that I have left..

Keep up the good work!

Absolutely!..Someone once told me that if you have a God-given talent, your gift back to God is to use it. We all have talents, but what separates us from each other are those who have the courage to pursue it.

Thanks for the inspiration! I took a leap of faith last year, leaving my day job to pursue photography full time. I've learned quite a bit since then... about myself and my craft. I didn't want to look back years from now, wondering what it would've been like.

It's amazing! Each time I've given deep, spiritual thought to my passion with photography, I get a call or email from you or your staff -- usually in reference to the upcoming workshop. Whenever I ask if I'm good enough to be THIS good, God always answers "you always are and more." Thank you, Mr. Knight.

thanks for the reminder again. At times i doubt my ability because of what comes from people around me especially those closest to me . It makes me feel like i am not as good or my career is not like a doctors or lawyers career. Cause i was brought up if you weren't doctor or lawyer you were nothing . what have done here with the locks reminds me of the joy i bring to peoples faces when they see the end result of a job i ahve completed for . i think once God is with and keep walking with his approval i am going to be ok. thans again

This was soooo for me. Time for me to get on the ball! I might have to link to this and read it everyday as a reminder. I don't want anyone else unlocking my gift and walking through my door.

I am glad that I have Kleenex nearby. It is so important to have a heart for God...to understand what he has birthed in you. You have a wonderful gift that you are sharing with all of us and I thank you.
