The Chair That Will Make History...

Friday, May 9, 2008

Last weekend while driving South of Atlanta I found a store that sold "Green" products. Most of the store's inventory was clothing made from bamboo and other organic threads. Its been a growing trend for the last few years to reduce our carbon footprint by taking actions to protect the environment. As I walked through the store I thought about my previous career in the utility industry. The company I worked for invested billions in Green Energy and renewable resources. I was proud to participate on several projects to advance this research.

Just before I left the store I noticed a chair in the corner. It looked a bit awkward but I was still intrigued. After analyzing the chair for a while I figured out that it had to be hand-made from something unusual. I drilled the saleswoman about the chair for a moment and then made the decision to purchase it.

The chair was made from a recycled wine barrel. How cool is that? You can still see how stained the back of the chair is from years of red wine fermenting. I also liked the distinctive markings on the chair from the metal braces that used to be attached. They add so much character.

I've decided to use this chair in my photography in several different ways. Look out to see how it will make history!!!

I hope u know how crazy u r; and by crazy I mean wicked; and by wicked I mean sick; and by sick I mean TALENTED BEYOND MEASURE!!!!!!

Now on a serious note, you are gifted, and that goes beyond the art. God not only gave you a good eye, great taste, and the skill to turn ordinary things into extraordinary things, but he also gave you a will and a drive. I admire that. What you did with this chair shows how your mental capacity and drive takes ur work to another level. The idea is sick and the use is even sicker. I bet you didnt go to the store looking for a 'green' chair to use in ur pics. But when you saw it creativity gave you a kick and said '...that chair will make history." I love it and that pic #3 above - sell off. (sell off is a slang used in Jamaica to mean its greater than hot. Thinking storewise, the item is so hot that its has been sold out, in demand, greater than hot).

Love it and that chair will make history.

Amazing! You have an eye unlike anything I have ever seen. Everytime I come to this site I am wowed, seriously. With each visit, I know God is at work here. It is evident in each picture and each word. I hope you and the Mrs. know that you do more than just take pictures...you motivate, inspire and give hope. Thank you.

Cathy ~ I never meant to be all mushy tonight. :)

It is absolutely NUTZ, how when with the right amount of attention paid to detail, something so very simple in nature can shine....
Shine on Mr Knight

Knight, you knew when you posted the pics of that chair that it would render some speechless. There's so much to say and yet there isn't. Could anyone ever think that a simple chair could be photographed from so many angles, each picture very different from the other and yet somehow the combination creates a motely that only taps the surface of the beauty and artistry of the actual object. You're brilliant....this is sick, phat, baaaad. Knight, you're one baaaaad fill-in-the-blank photographer. Much props on this one.

Teka, I'm feeling you. Di boy talented. Dis is a sell off.

Forgive me...I got so excited I reverted to my native tongue...back to standard english.

Can't wait to see how this chair makes history....
