Size 17 and Size 0 - The Carter Men

Tuesday, May 13, 2008

On a cold rainy morning in D.C. I met with the Carter family to do a few portraits of Andre and his 6 month old son, Quincy. Andre is an NFL Defensive End for the Washington Redskins and Quincy is not that far behind judging by the size of his hands. Mom (Bethany) keeps both of these guys pretty stylish! She was a great help with cheering Quincy on during the shoot and was prepared with every prop, toy, and snack imaginable. At first we thought about postponing the shoot due to the weather but I made it to town a day early and scoped out a few locations for us to shoot in Georgetown. We were certainly creative with the approach.

Andre and Bethany have an ongoing joke about my name or shall I say my names. More about that in another post (behind the scenes).

Andre, Bethany, and Quincy (when you can read this one day) - I really enjoyed hanging out with you folks. I'm already looking forward to our next shoot!

Thanks to my assistant Troy and second shooter Mike for helping to make the day a breeze.

Check out a few of the pics...

What adorable images! Of course, the baby was TRULY the star of the shoot! I love sepia toned work. It adds such warmth.

D.C.'s my turf, too! Holla back if you're up this way again and maybe I can pull some of my friends from DC Sportbike Riders to meet you. It IS riding weather, you know!

OK, shot one is so hot I stopped there for a while.

What a cute lil man - he needs to be doing baby shoots for clothing lines. Pic 3: U r so sick wit it Ross. Simple pic like daddy and son shoes so sick. I love that shot with him 'reading' his book. And I love that last shot. You keep doing these families shoots and you'll have a list of bloggers with babies-on-the-way and appointment dates on your calendar. LOL.

Wow...your blog gives me such joy!! I love how your photographed this family! I think I love every shot in different way.. but my two favourites would have to be Quincy in the hat, with dad's hands holding his son..that is truly beautiful and the shoe shot!

Wonderful eye once again. Little Quincy is just as adorable as he wants to be.

Is it okay if I link your blog to mine?
